A leading international Audit, Tax & Advisory (Top 10) firm based on the beautiful island of Bermuda, currently have a requirement for a qualified and experienced Audit Manager to work in their Audit and Assurance practice.
This is a fantastic opportunity any existing experienced Audit Assistant Manager or Manager (ACCA/ACA/CPA/CA) who are currently based in Ireland or further afield in Europe/North America/Australia or Australia. For successful candidates, you will be joining a great existing team where there is great comradery between colleagues, smart casual dress attire (Shirt/Shorts), will provide assistance once on the island, provide visa assistance & accommodation for the first number of weeks amongst others.
Role and responsibilities:
- Lead multiple audit engagements at the same time and competing priorities in a fast-paced, interactive results-based environment
- Manage all engagement fieldwork to ensure quality service and timely delivery of results for a diverse portfolio of clients across several industries including (re)insurance, hedge funds, and international business
- Establish the expectations of the audit team and value of client services to be delivered
- Collaborate to plan audit objectives and determine an audit strategy that appropriately addresses risk
- Provide guidance and participate in the performance of audit procedures that impact complex or specialized issues facing a client
- Participate in the development and professional growth of other audit staff through knowledge sharing, on-site training, timely performance feedback, and other firm initiatives
- Proactively build relationships that support our ability to provide tailored services that meet a wide range of assurance needs and contribute to new business development
- Ensure self-professional development with technical specialization and on-going education
- Assist with establishing and maintaining policies and procedures in the firm, designed to promote a system of quality control for audits and reviews of financial statements, and other assurance and related service engagements
Experience and requirements:
- An internationally recognized accounting qualification (such as CA, ACA, CPA or ACCA)
- A minimum of 5 years as an auditor in a public accounting firm; experience serving clients in the (re)insurance industry which may include property and casualty, life, health, and / or captives a plus
- A strong, current knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP is essential, and knowledge of Canadian and Bermuda Statutory standards would be beneficial
- A self-motivated individual with exceptional written and oral communication skills and a collaborative approach to management
- Strong competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Proven ability to lead teams and mentor other audit staff on multiple client engagements simultaneously, working effectively to meet established internal and external deadlines
- Highly competent in developing and sustaining profitable client relationships
- Ability to work extra hours as needed
